WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania -- Ferrum College lost a non-conference field hockey game at Washington & Jefferson College, 2-0 mat Cameron Stadium.

Ferrum (2-6)
Washington & Jefferson (3-4)

The Presidents did not waste anytime on scoring the first goal of the game when Lina Crowley received a pass form Lindsey Diggan that crossed in front of the goal and finished on the left side in the first minute of play. Diggan found the back of the goal off of a Madeline Hubbard pass to add some insurance to the team. Rena Israel posted 60 minutes of play in the net for W&J. Mia Holmes posted 12 saves in 60 minutes of play for the Panthers.

"I was incredibly proud of our effort today. We need to clean up the small things all over the field in order to compete with tough teams like W&J." -- Head Coach Carrie Hanshue Austin

Coach Austin's women will be back in action Sunday, September 29, at Allegheny College. The non-conference game is set to start at 1:00 p.m. in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
