FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 game to Virginia Wesleyan University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.

Ferrum (8-6-2, 4-3-1 ODAC)
Mia Meinhardt scored first for Virginia Wesleyan, taking a pass from Camryn Terry at 7:11 and putting it past Ferrum goalkeeper Taylor Dodson. Terry than notched an unassisted goal at 33:30 to spot the Marlins a 2-0 lead at the break.
Meinhardt made it a 3-0 game with a goal at 47:11 off a pass from Reina Araujo. Kayla Lentini helped the Panthers avoid the shutout with a goal at the 65:33 mark. Jenna Janicki was credited with an assist on the goal.
Goalkeeper Dodson played all 90 minutes in net for Ferrum with nine saves. Starter Amruta Karkare played almost 59 minutes in net for the Marlins and Tristen Roberts closed it out, with neither making a save. Virginia Wesleyan out-shot Ferrum 23-4 and closed the game with a 10-1 advantage n corner kicks.

Coach Erin Saleeby's team will be back in action Wednesday, October 30 at Roanoke College. The ODAC game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Salem, Virginia.
