Madden-McAfee Drops 32, Panther Men Fall at Home

FERRUM, Virginia -- Greensboro College had four players score in double digits in beating Ferrum College 91-79 in non-conference men's basketball action tonight at Swartz Gym. The Panthers fell, despite Kajuan Madden-McAfee scoring 32 points.

Ferrum (0-1)

The two teams played evenly early on in Ferrum's home opener, with Greensboro taking a 45-41 lead at the end of the first half. Madden-McAfee had 17 points in the opening period for the Panthers, including a five of three-pointers, which was one shy of the school record.

In the second half, Greensboro lead 48-44 at the 19:08 mark. Ferrum went on an 18-point run with six consecutive three-point buckets to give the Panthers a 62-48 lead at 15:54. James Smith Jr. started the scoring barrage with a three pointer then Everette Rivers followed Smith with a three. Madden-McAfee dropped a pair of threes, followed by Rivers and Darius Kemp. with one each.

The two teams battled back and forth, with Greensboro tying the game at 68-68 with 10:38 left to play. Greensboro closed out the game with a 23-11 run, and the cold shooting Panthers could not recover.

Coach Tyler Sanborn's team will be back on court Wednesday, November 17, at home against Averett University. The non-conference game tips off at 7:00 p.m. in Swartz Gym.
